Baseball Recap: Lawrence Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Lawrence won the last time they faced West Windsor-Plainsboro South and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cardinals came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Lawrence got a great performance from Connor Crowley as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Teak Toto and Deacon Moore did most of the damage at the plate: Toto got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Moore went 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Those three hits gave Moore a new career-high. Ben Hauger was another key player, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Lawrence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Windsor-Plainsboro South only posted a batting average of .231.

Lawrence's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for West Windsor-Plainsboro South, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Lawrence will face off against Notre Dame at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Windsor-Plainsboro South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Robbinsville at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
