New Prairie lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mishawaka Marian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Cougars beat the Knights on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-1. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Colton Griffiths spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jordan Davis was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Reed Robinson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

New Prairie is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Mishawaka Marian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-7.

New Prairie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
