Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cara Tripp-Reams and Brylee Martin Lead Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton to Victory

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 42-34 victory over the Fulton City Bulldogs. The win was all the more spectacular given Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 615th in Illinois, while Fulton City is ranked 236th in Kentucky).

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton was led to victory by Brylee Martin and Cara Tripp-Reams. Martin almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Tripp-Reams posted 12 points. Martin is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games she's played.

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's victory bumped their record up to 7-19. As for Fulton City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Coming up, Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton will face off against Steeleville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fulton City, they will venture away from home to square off against Hickman County at 6:00 p.m. on February 17th.
