Recap: Trinity Bulldogs vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies
The Trinity Bulldogs were the 74-55 winner over the Oak Grove Grizzlies when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Trinity took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Grove on Friday.
When it comes to explaining why Trinity lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dominic Payne. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 10 rebounds. Payne scored a full 63.6% of Trinity's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Hodges, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
Oak Grove can attribute much of their success to Loucas Shoaf, who scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Shoaf's third in a row with at least ten points. Max Hurt was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Trinity has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Oak Grove, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Trinity will stay at home for another game and welcome East Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. East Davidson is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Oak Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Northern Guilford at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.
