Basketball Recap: Tekonsha Takes a Loss

If Tekonsha was feeling good fresh off their 48-27 takedown of Pansophia Academy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tekonsha Indians were dealt a 58-30 loss at the hands of the Burr Oak Bobcats on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-14 last Tuesday.

Tekonsha's loss came despite strong showings from Angel Veenkant and Emily Rizo. Veenkant shot 58% from the field en route to 19 points, while Rizo posted five points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Veenkant a new career-high in points.

Tekonsha has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. Burr Oak has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Tekonsha does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Burr Oak has already played their next game (against Mendon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
