Baseball Recap: Willcox Extends Winning Streak to Three

Willcox waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the San Simon Longhorns 16-6. Considering the Cowboys have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryan Cuevas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ty Shull, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Kaleb Cooke was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Willcox was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Willcox's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for San Simon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-18.

As of now, neither Willcox nor the Longhorns have any future games scheduled.
