Baseball Game Preview: De La Salle Collegiate Pilots vs. Divine Child Falcons

The De La Salle Collegiate Pilots will challenge the Divine Child Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (De La Salle Collegiate 2.2, Divine Child 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Divine Child will take on a team with plenty of momentum: De La Salle Collegiate extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Pilots walked away with a 4-1 win over St. John's Jesuit.

Mason Pilarski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Divine Child never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past Richard 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Divine Child is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for De La Salle Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.

De La Salle Collegiate skirted past Divine Child 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Do the Pilots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
