Softball Recap: North Marion Comes Up Short at Home Against Interlachen

North Marion unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Interlachen Rams on Tuesday, falling 23-9. The Colts haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Avree McCubbin led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles. Another player making a difference was Olivia Pierce, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Marion will host West Port at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Interlachen, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
