Oxford is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 37-27 win over Horn Lake. The score was all tied up 13-13 at the break, but the Chargers were the better team in the second half.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Jamerson and Floyd Sinegal. Jamerson had a great game and gained 151 total yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Sinegal was balling out in the loss, rushing for 212 yards and one score while picking up 9.6 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Tupelo faced Germantown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Golden Wave came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 35-28. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Wave in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now won five in a row.
Oxford better keep an eye on Jaeden Hill. He was instrumental in Tupelo's win, rushing for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. Hill's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Braylen Williams, who rushed for 106 yards on only 11 carries.
Tupelo's defense made their presence known, laying out King White six times. Kaiden Buchanan was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 total tackles per game. Another thorn in Germantown's side was Tyson Hunter, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Oxford's record now sits at 11-1. As for Tupelo, their record is now 12-1.

A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bobo, who rushed for 217 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per carry.
