Softball Game Preview: Mt. Blue Cougars vs. Mt. Ararat Eagles

The Mt. Blue Cougars will challenge the Mt. Ararat Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mt. Blue fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bangor on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

Meanwhile, Mt. Ararat got themselves on the board against Messalonskee on Friday, but Messalonskee never followed suit. They put the hurt on Messalonskee with a sharp 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Mt. Ararat considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Emma Graffam was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Durant, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.

Mt. Ararat always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Messalonskee only posted an OBP of .300.

Mt. Blue now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Mt. Ararat, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8.

Mt. Blue came out on top in a nail-biter against Mt. Ararat in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
