Basketball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garnet Valley Jaguars. The match marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Garnet Valley, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Springfield and Garnet Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Springfield (ranked 126th) will meet Ridley (ranked 341st) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Garnet Valley will square off against Harriton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 476 places (61 vs. 537).
