League recap: Hamilton paces Sacramento Valley with three wins over past week

Sacramento Valley league recap: 4/3/13

Hamilton outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Braves beat East Nicolaus 10-2 and Gridley 10-4.

Clark Love was on fire this week, as he led Sacramento Valley with a .750 average, two home runs and three RBIs. Meanwhile, Willows put together a 1-0 week.

The Honkers' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing five hits and four walks to lead the league in both categories.

The league boasted five .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Eduardo Briones, who collected four hits in four at bats for a 1.000 average.

Willows' Joe Amaro led the league in strikeouts this week with three. With 17 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks fourth in the league.



Kyle Wycoff was an RBI machine on Thursday, as he knocked in four runs during the Honkers' 15-5 win over Las Plumas. He went 1-for-1 and scored one run.

Love was the star in Willows' 15-5 triumph over the Thunderbirds, as he sent two home runs over the fence during play. Love's big day included three RBIs and three runs scored, as he went 3-for-4.
