Baseball Recap: Manzano Takes a Loss

Manzano scored first but ultimately less than Cleveland in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against the Cleveland Storm, falling 16-6. The Monarchs were not able to make up for their loss to the Storm from their previous meeting back in March of 2019.

Aljaris Pineda was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Manzano's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Cleveland, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Manzano will challenge Atrisco Heritage Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Manzano has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Cleveland, they will take on Cibola at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
