Softball Recap: Tracy Beats Notre Dame (SO) for Their 15th Straight Win

Tracy came tearing into Saturday's match with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Notre Dame (SO) Knights get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 14 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Elisa Galli's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emalee Cargill, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Sansaver, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tracy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Tracy's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Notre Dame (SO), they moved to 20-5 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Tracy will host Lodi at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 1.5, the Flames 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Notre Dame (SO), they will venture away from home to square off against Sierra Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trailblazers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
