Basketball Recap: New Iberia Comes Up Short

New Iberia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Barbe Buccaneers. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

New Iberia's defeat dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Barbe, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 24-15.

New Iberia has already played their next matchup (against Sam Houston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Barbe, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-46 victory against Lafayette on the 14th.
