Baseball Recap: Mendota Takes a Loss

Mendota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Corcoran Panthers, falling 15-3. The Aztecs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Mendota's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Corcoran, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Mendota will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite Hills at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.06 runs per game on average), something the Aztecs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Corcoran, they are on the road again on Tuesday to play Orange Cove at 10:45 a.m. The Titans are coming into the game with three straight victories at home, so the Panthers will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
