Basketball Game Preview: Travelers Rest Devildogs vs. Owen Warhorses

The Travelers Rest Devildogs and the Owen Warhorses will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Travelers Rest has three straight wins, Owen has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Travelers Rest didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Southside with a sharp 51-28 victory on Thursday. The Devildogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Owen scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a blow against Tuscola, falling 67-37.

Travelers Rest has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Owen, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
