Basketball Recap: Brookeslee Colvin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Coeur D'alene over Deer Park

If Coeur d'Alene was riding high fresh off their 76-55 takedown of Sandpoint last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Coeur d'Alene Vikings took a 75-56 bruising from the Deer Park Stags on Thursday. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Coeur d'Alene's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brookeslee Colvin, who posted 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Colvin is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Caroll, who earned 14 points and seven rebounds.

Coeur d'Alene's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Deer Park, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coeur d'Alene will take on Francis Parker in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Deer Park, they will welcome Colville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
