Soccer Game Preview: Currituck County vs. Northeastern

For the first time this season, Currituck County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northeastern Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Currituck County's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Monday just wasn't the day for Currituck County's offense. They fell just short of Catholic by a score of 1-0 on Monday. While losing is never fun, Currituck County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 283rd in North Carolina, while Catholic are ranked 35th in Virginia).

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten goals the game before, Northeastern was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 8-1 to Holmes. Northeastern were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 6-0.

Northeastern's loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Currituck County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-2.

Everything went Currituck County's way against Northeastern in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Currituck County made off with a 9-0 victory. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
