Ranchview is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Alvarado is on a four-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. After each having a week off, both will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Ranchview took their game at home with ease, bagging a 44-13 win over Bridgeport.

Meanwhile, Alvarado got the win against Glen Rose last Friday by a conclusive 71-50. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won four matches by 21 points or more so far this season.

Cardea Collier was his usual excellent self, rushing for 318 yards and eight touchdowns while picking up 18.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 268 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. A healthy portion of that aerial production (118 yards to be exact) went to Logan Bjork.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Alvarado's defensive line and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Anthony Frias and D.J. Clampitt, who racked up six sacks between them. Alvarado got some further help from Logan Woolard: he made 18 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Alvarado was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 359 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 304 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Ranchview now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Alvarado, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Ranchview was dealt a bruising 42-7 defeat at the hands of Alvarado when the teams last played back in September of 2019. Thankfully for Ranchview, Colby Sampson (who rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
