Basketball Recap: Tulia Hornets vs. Whitharral Panthers
Tulia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Whitharral Panthers.

Despite the loss, Tulia still got an impressive performance from Logan Becerra, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Becerra has posted since back in November. Another player making a difference was Julius Johnson, who posted 14 points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Tulia was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whitharral only racked up eight assists.
It was another big night for Nathaniel Sansom, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 14 boards for Whitharral. Sansom's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Griffin, who put up ten points and six boards.
Tulia's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Whitharral, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-6.
Tulia will face off against Hale Center at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hale Center knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Tulia likes a good challenge. As for Whitharral, they will take on Lockney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitharral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
