Volleyball Recap: Madilyn Skebeck Key Part of Team Effort in Vikings Win + How To Watch

Glendale won the last time they faced Williamsburg and Rachel McClellan did her part to make sure it happened again. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Blue Pirates on Thursday for which the team can thank McClellan, who had 17 kills, seven digs, and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more kills the last three times she's played.

Glendale was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glendale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madilyn Skebeck, who had four digs, three blocks, and three aces. That's the most blocks Skebeck has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Hannah Matish, who had 18 assists and four digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Glendale was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

Glendale now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for Williamsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glendale will face off against Bishop Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Williamsburg, they will take on Claysburg-Kimmel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
