Basketball Recap: Maize Beats Maize South for Their Third Straight Victory

Maize had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past the Maize South Mavericks with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 66-48 back in December of 2024.

Maize's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Maize South, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Coming up, Maize will be playing at home against South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maize knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully South likes a good challenge. As for Maize South, they will venture away from home to square off against Andover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
