Football Game Preview: Keswick Christian Crusaders vs. Canterbury Cougars

The Keswick Christian Crusaders will face off against the Canterbury Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Keswick Christian made easy work of Santa Fe Catholic and carried off a 33-7 victory. Considering the Crusaders have won five matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Keswick Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Cook out in front who punched in three rushing scores, and also threw for 151 yards while completing 80% of his passes. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Landon Pauley-Sherman, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Keswick Christian's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Caleb Nordenbrook, Josiah Loeffler, and Isaiah Reese, who each picked up one sack apiece. Nordenbrook was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Canterbury entered their tilt with SmartEn Sports Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Goats with points to spare, taking the game 35-20.

The victory got Canterbury back to even at 3-3. As for Keswick Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Keswick Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Canterbury in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 21-12. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
