Roanoke Rapids came into Friday's contest looking for another win against KIPP P, but Tamaues Person wouldn't allow it. The Pride took down the Yellowjackets 24-7 on Friday thanks in part to Person, who rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making six total tackles.

Despite the loss, Roanoke Rapids saw an underclassman step up: freshman Malik Yellorday rushed for 68 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

KIPP P has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 48.0 points this season. As for Roanoke Rapids, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
