Troy had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Bradford Railroaders. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 5-0 victory the Railroaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2021.

Amayah Kennedy was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mimi Shaw, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Troy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bradford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Troy will challenge Sidney at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.19 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bradford, they will take on Celina at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Railroaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
