Basketball Recap: Landon Osswald's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hamilton Southeastern over Zionsville

Hamilton Southeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Zionsville Eagles. The Royals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Hamilton Southeastern lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Landon Osswald, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Luke Weemer was another key player, putting up eight points and ten boards.

Maguire Mitchell was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds for Zionsville. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Tielker, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points.

Hamilton Southeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Zionsville, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Hamilton Southeastern has already played their next matchup, a 53-43 loss against Mt. Vernon on the 25th. As for Zionsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-47 defeat against Warren Central on the 25th.
