Two dominant backs in Dillon Terry and Donovan 'DJ' Colvin are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brookstone Cougars will be playing at home against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Brookstone's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. Anne-Pacelli has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Friday, Brookstone earned a 23-13 win over Strong Rock Christian.
A big part of Brookstone's victory came down to the chemistry between Broughton Branch and his top target Sammie Laboy. Branch threw for 195 yards and two TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes while Laboy picked up 70 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Brookstone didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Frankie Bickerstaff and A.J. Hayes. Hayes is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least eight every time he's taken the field this season.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Brookstone, adding 11 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Jimmy Hunter: he added nine points with three field goals and another two kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Anne-Pacelli walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 34-7 win over the Lions. With the Vikings ahead 28-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
St. Anne-Pacelli's win came from a few key players Brookstone will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jason Davis, who picked up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving touchdowns he has posted since back in September. Dustin Sherman was another key player, throwing for 172 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes.
St. Anne-Pacelli was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. They are 4-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
One reason for the win was St. Anne-Pacelli's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Damien Hill was especially locked on to Loganville Christian Academy's QB and sacked him twice. Hill also made five total tackles, which is notable because St. Anne-Pacelli is 3-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 3-4 otherwise. Another thorn in Loganville Christian Academy's side was Zackery Ellis, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.
Brookstone's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Brookstone has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 156.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like St. Anne-Pacelli struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 192.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Brookstone didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. Anne-Pacelli in their previous matchup back in October, but they still walked away with a 19-14 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Vikings' Colvin, who rushed for 155 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Cougars still be able to contain Colvin? There's only one way to find out.
