Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Cherokee Bluff's Winning Streak

If Cherokee Bluff was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of East Hall on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell 3-1 to the Oconee County Warriors on Wednesday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Brooklyn Knight paced Cherokee Bluff's offense, picking up 12 kills. Knight got some help from Kailyn Williams and her 19 assists. Darina Leonova and Bella Sweet kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Oconee County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sidney Tranel, who had eight digs and two aces.

Cherokee Bluff moved to 27-13 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Oconee County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-12 record this season.

Cherokee Bluff does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oconee County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Jefferson on the 9th.
