Zack Poff takes a look at the Top 10 quarterbacks in the country.

It's never too early to talk football and the quarterback position has always been the focal point of any football team.

Last year, JT Daniels of Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) was selected as the No. 1 quarterback before the 2017 season started and all he did was lead the Monarchs to their first CIF state title in school history. Mater Dei went wire to wire as the No. 1 team in high school football and never trailed at any point during the season as Daniels was named the MaxPreps National Football Player of the Year.

With the 2018 high school football season on the horizon, MaxPreps is starting our look at the 2018 season. For the next few months, Football Editor Zack Poff will be breaking down positions, players and teams to get you ready for the upcoming prep football season.

This year's Top 10 includes six players from the Class of 2019 and the other four from the Class of 2020.

California leads the way with four selections, Texas and Arizona both have two, while Alabama and Georgia have one each.
