Basketball Recap: Chestertown Christian Academy Starts Season with Win Against Fairwinds Christian

Chestertown Christian Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Fairwinds Christian Knights as the Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots made off with a 55-31 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Patriots just coasted through the last quarter.

Chestertown Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but John Stoltzfus led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Lloyd, who went 8 of 20 en route to 18 points and three steals.

Chestertown Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairwinds Christian only pulled down five offensive boards.

Kadon Jackson and Solomon McCloud certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jackson went 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points, while McCloud posted 17 points. That was a full 54.8% of Fairwinds Christian's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Fairwinds Christian's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Chestertown Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-36 win against Holly Grove Christian on the 27th. As for Fairwinds Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-18 defeat against Concord Christian Academy on the 28th.
