Softball Recap: Lincolnton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lincolnton's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Newton-Conover Red Devils as they made off with a 22-8 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lincolnton got a massive performance out of Brooklynn Johnson, who went 5-for-6 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. Bailey Hollar was another key player, going 4-for-6 with four doubles, five RBI, and two runs.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Lincolnton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. The Wolves are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lincolnton's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Newton-Conover, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lincolnton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Bandys on the 1st. As for Newton-Conover, they have also already played their next match, a 10-0 defeat against East Burke on the 1st.
