It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ocean Springs can now relate to. They lost 9-1 to the Northwest Rankin Cougars on Saturday. The Greyhounds' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ocean Springs got a good showing from Patterson Gilfoil, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Gilfoil has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Ocean Springs' loss dropped their record down to 23-6-1. As for Northwest Rankin, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-15-1 record.

While Ocean Springs had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
