Football Recap: Westchester Comets vs. Kennedy Cougars
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westchester can now relate to. They were dealt a 49-21 loss at the hands of the Kennedy Cougars on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comets of the 28-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.
Although Westchester took the loss, they still got scores from Dawan Scott, Jordan Rodgers, and Justen Key.

It was another big night for Diego Montes, who rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 330 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes for Kennedy. Montes' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. Josue Sandoval also helped out as he racked up 106 rushing yards.
Westchester's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Kennedy, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Westchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kennedy, they will take on King/Drew at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Kennedy's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last nine matchups.
