Volleyball Game Preview: Ocean Springs Greyhounds vs. Petal Panthers

Ocean Springs has won 16 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Petal has won 16 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Greyhounds will welcome the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mobile Christian came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Ocean Springs, but Alden St. Amant wouldn't allow it. The Greyhounds put the hurt on the Leopards with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday for which the team can thank St. Amant, who had 19 digs and two assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

The win didn't come easy: Mobile Christian scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 27-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Petal beat Sacred Heart 3-1 last Thursday.

In the three sets Petal was on fire: they won each by at least 25 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-0, 0-25, 25-0.

Petal's victory bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Ocean Springs, their win bumped their record up to 36-5.

Everything went Ocean Springs' way against Petal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Ocean Springs made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Greyhounds repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
