Soccer Game Preview: Fort Chiswell vs. George Wythe

The Fort Chiswell Pioneers will venture away from home to face off against the George Wythe Maroons at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, neither Fort Chiswell nor Giles could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, George Wythe kept a clean sheet against Holston on Tuesday. They blew past the Cavaliers 7-0. The result was nothing new for George Wythe, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Holston with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mason Tate (4), Isaac Smith, Rylan Anderson-Jernigan, and Brandon Kidd.

The victory made it two in a row for George Wythe and bumps their season record up to 6-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two contests. With that draw, Fort Chiswell's record moves to 7-2-2.

Fort Chiswell was able to grind out a solid victory over George Wythe in their previous meeting back in April, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
