Basketball Recap: Riverview Sarasota Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Riverview Sarasota couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell to the Venice Indians 71-66. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.

Venice was led to victory by Zoe O'Leary and Tessa Oleary. O'Leary dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 boards, while Oleary went 6 for 9 en route to 21 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds. O'Leary has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 16 times she's played. Addison Ivery was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Riverview Sarasota's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Venice, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.

As of now, neither Riverview Sarasota nor Venice have any future games scheduled.
