Baseball Recap: Gila Ridge Find Success

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Gila Ridge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the San Luis Sidewinders 7-6. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 12-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Eric Navarro tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Brady Doman was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was James McMullen, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

Gila Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for San Luis, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-8-1.

Gila Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sidewinders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
