Softball Recap: Biloxi Makes It Four in a Row at Home

While Biloxi didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Meridian Wildcats 13-3 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Aubrey Atchison was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Symaria (Sammie) Edmond, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Biloxi pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Meridian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Biloxi will be playing in front of their home fans against Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Biloxi 3.8, Lafayette 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Meridian has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
