Baseball Game Preview: McLoud Redskins vs. Holdenville Wolverines

McLoud has gone a perfect 3-0 against Holdenville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Redskins will be taking part in a tournament against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Holdenville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on McLoud, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but McLoud sidestepped Seminole for a 6-4 victory. The Redskins haven't had any issues with the Chieftains recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Brayden Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Smith was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gavyn Morgan was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Nemecek, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Holdenville came up short against Casady back in March, falling 18-9.

Kaden Rogers was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jace Dockrey, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Holdenville's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for McLoud, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Everything went McLoud's way against Holdenville in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as McLoud made off with a 12-2 win. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
