Softball Game Preview: Monroe Trojans vs. Madison Trojans

Monroe will head out on the road to square off against Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Trojans fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Wednesday's season opener. They put the hurt on Huron with a sharp 27-4 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Madison took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Hudson 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Monroe came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monroe since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
