Saratoga has gone 8-2 against Monta Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Saratoga will head out on the road to take on Monta Vista at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Saratoga turned things around against Lynbrook on Thursday. They blew past the Vikings 8-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Brandon Chen was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Doug Bettinger, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Nathan Lee also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Saratoga was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
While Monta Vista didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Summit Shasta on Saturday.
Aiden Koppes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Kaito Miyanouchi Porter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Murai, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Monta Vista has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Saratoga's record is now 2-6.
Saratoga couldn't quite finish off Monta Vista when the teams last played on March 6th and fell 7-5. Can Saratoga avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
