The Ramona Bulldogs will face off against the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Wednesday, Ramona made easy work of Valley Center and carried off a 16-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Braelyn Bolen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Evie Brown and Lilia Ramos did most of the damage at the plate: Brown went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Ramos went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Brown has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Taeya Kitchen, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Ramona kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.6.
Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel got themselves on the board against Fallbrook on Wednesday, but Fallbrook never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 12-0 win. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sundevils yet this season.
Sirena Castro was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Castro was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madie Codner, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Clara Carter was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Mt. Carmel has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Ramona, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-11-1.
Ramona might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Mt. Carmel in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
