Baseball Recap: St. Edward Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Edward can now relate to. They lost 12-4 to the St. Ignatius Wildcats on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.

St. Edward has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. As for St. Ignatius, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-9.

St. Edward does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Ignatius, they will challenge Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Polar Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
