Meanwhile, Purvis made easy work of Greene County on Saturday and carried off a 5-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tornadoes.

East Central's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five games. As for Purvis, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Everything went East Central's way against Purvis in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as East Central made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Central since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
