AZ Compass Prep is a perfect 3-0 against Heritage Academy Gateway since October of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Heroes at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
AZ Compass Prep's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Skyline Prep, posting a 66-0 victory. The Dragons have beaten the Bengals the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bengals has come to flipping the script.

Carston 'Diesel' Robinson produced another solid effort throwing for 135 yards and four TDs while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 34 yards. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Tray Parson also helped with two scores in total.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: AZ Compass Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Another reason for the win was AZ Compass Prep's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Keytrin Harris was especially locked on to Skyline Prep's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage Academy Gateway). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Mission Heights Prep 46-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Heroes' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Phantoms are ranked 129th).
Heritage Academy Gateway's win came from a few key players AZ Compass Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Stratton Ellsworth, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Axton Leavitt, who rushed for 102 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

AZ Compass Prep's record is now 7-0. As for Heritage Academy Gateway, their record now sits at 7-3.
Everything came up roses for AZ Compass Prep against Heritage Academy Gateway in their previous meeting back in September, as the team secured a 63-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
