Football Game Preview: Allen Eagles vs. Plano East Panthers

Allen is a perfect 8-0 against Plano East since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Allen knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Plano East likes a good challenge.

Allen had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 63-point drubbing they dealt McKinney Boyd on Friday. The Eagles really took it to the Broncos for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by 33 points or more so far this season.

Jeremiah Daoud continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 89 yards and one score, while also throwing for 178 yards and one touchdown. Those 89 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Lyndon Spriggs was in the mix as well, providing Allen with two TDs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Plano East took on McKinney on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Lions by a score of 20-13.

Plano East found their leader in freshman Treyce Seldon, who rushed for 88 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries.

Allen's record is now 9-0. As for Plano East, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Allen against Plano East in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
