Football Recap: Barron Collier Drops Season-High Score on Golden Gate + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Barron Collier). They took down the Golden Gate Titans 49-35 on Friday. The Cougars didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Sam Powell had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 129 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 184 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (125.8). Simon Hincapie was in the mix too, providing Barron Collier with two scores.

When it comes to explaining why Golden Gate lost, don't look at Mikenson Demezier. Despite the final result, he rushed for 166 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Demezier's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 137 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Gam T, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one TD.

Barron Collier's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Golden Gate, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Barron Collier wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 32-7 win against Aubrey Rogers on the 24th. As for Golden Gate, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-0 victory against Palmetto Ridge on the 24th.
