Baseball Recap: West Union's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

West Union fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Ripley on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Ripley Tigers by a score of 9-8. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 10-3 to the Tigers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gavin Foley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-6. Another player making a difference was Jake Foreman, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Foley wasn't the only one working in the hit department: West Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

West Union's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.2 runs. As for Ripley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.
