Bellville is 8-2 against Smithville since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Bellville Brahmas will venture away from home to take on the Smithville Tigers at 8:00 p.m. Bellville will be strutting in after a victory while Smithville will be coming in after a loss.

Bellville is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Giddings: they outscored them in every quarter. Bellville came out on top against Giddings by a score of 61-50 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Smithville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Navasota and fell 83-16. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1549th, while the Rattlers are ranked 544th).

Bellville pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Smithville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-21.

Everything came up roses for Bellville against Smithville in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 76-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bellville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
